Because Apollo had flown over the sea with a dolphin the holy place was called Delphi from now on. A temple was built in honor of Apollo. That happened in the 8th century B.C. Delphi experienced an immense upswing. The oracles were regarded as direct epiphanies of Apollo, son of Zeus and God of light, the arts and prophecy.
Weil Apollon über das Meer mit einem Delphin geflogen war hieß die heilige Stätte fortan Delphi. Man errichtete Apollon zu Ehren einen Tempel. Das geschah im 8. Jh. v.d.Z. Delphi erlebte einen ungeheuren Aufschwung. Die Orakelsprüche galten als unmittelbare Offenbarung Apollons, Sohn von Zeus und Gott des Lichtes, der Künste und der Weissagung.
