Hügelaufwärts führt der Weg durch das antike Wohnviertel, das faszinierende Einblicke in das Privatleben der Oberschicht von Delos gewährt. Den Mittelpunkt eines Wohnhauses bildete ein säulengesäumter und mosaikgepflasteter Innenhof, um den sich die verschiedenen Räume gruppieren. Nach außen hin war der Komplex durch fensterlose Mauern vollkommen abgeschirmt. Innen dagegen hatten die ein- bis zweistöckigen Villen jeden erdenklichen Komfort inklusive Brunnen, Kanalisation und Thermalbad. Die meist aus Granit errichteten Wände trugen einen Putz, der durch verschiedene Farbabstufungen wie Marmor aussah. Zudem waren große Fläche mit farbenfrohen Malereien verziert.
Up the hill, the path leads through the ancient residential district. It provides fascinating insights into the private life of the upper classes of Delos. The focal point of a residential building was a columned and mosaic paved courtyard. Around it the various rooms were grouped. Outwardly the complex was completely shielded by windowless walls. Inside, however, the one- to two-story villas had every imaginable comfort including fountains, sewers and thermal baths. The walls, mostly made of granite, were plastered with different shades of color to let it look like marble. In addition, large areas were decorated with colorful paintings.
