Am Stadtrand begrüßt Widerstandskämpfer Spiros Kayales die Besucher von Chania. Der Nationalheld hatte im Zuge des kretischen Freiheitskampfes Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts die griechische Flagge mit seinem Leben verteidigt.
On the outskirts of Chania, the partisan Spiros Kayales welcomes Chanias visitors. The national hero gave his life protecting Greece in the Cretan fight for freedom at the end of the 19th century.
