between the 9th and 11th centuries, Haithabu, at the gates of the city of Schleswig Schleswig , was an important trading centre of the Vikings. And in 849, Archbishop Ansgar founded the first Christian church in ancient Denmark at this place.
Haithabu, vor den Toren der Stadt Schleswig Schleswig , war schon zwischen dem 9. und 11. Jh ein bedeutendes Handeszentrum der Wikinger eine bedeutende Siedlung. Erzbischof Ansgar gründete 849 an dieser Stelle die erste christliche Kirche im alten Dänemark.
