Einhard (775 – 840 AD) was a scourtier and advisor of Charlemagne and his son Louis the Pious; his main work is a biography of Charlemagne, the Vita Karoli Magni, one of the most important (literary) legacies of the Middle Ages.
Einhard (775-840) war ein Höfling und Berater Karl des Großen und seines Sohns Ludwigs des Frommen; sein Hauptwerk ist eine Biographie von Karl dem Großen, der sog. Vita Karoli Magni, einem der wichtigsten (literarischen) Vermächtnisse des Mittelalters.
