Donated on the order of the chapter of Mary around 1220 and consecrated in 1239 this reliquary shrine is, along with the Karlsschrein, among the most important goldsmith works of the thirteenth century.
Um 1220 vom Kapitel des Aachener Marienstifts in Auftrag gegebener und 1239 vollendeter Reliquienschrein. Der Schrein gehört neben dem Karlsschrein zu den bedeutendsten Goldschmiedearbeiten des 13. Jahrhunderts.
