Jahrhundert gegründet, mauserte sich die Stadt 400 Jahre später zum Bischofssitz. Ihren heutigen Glanz verdankt sie den Architekten der k.u.k. Monarchie. Zu hauptstädtischen Ehren gelangte Zagreb erst nach Kroatiens Unabhängigkeit im Jahr 1991. Heute leben 800.000 Menschen in der aufstrebenden Metropole.
