Ein Ring aus Industrievierteln umgibt Split Split, Croatia , die mit 220.000 Einwohnern größte Stadt Dalmatiens. Sie lassen gar nicht erahnen, welch architektonisches Juwel die Altstadt rund um den Hafen bildet. Sie hat sich innerhalb der Mauern eines römischen Kaiserpalastes entwickelt – Diokletian sei Dank, der hier seinen Ruhestand genoss. Die Spliter leben hier im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes inmitten von fast zwei Jahrtausenden Geschichte.

A ring of industrial neighborhoods surrounds Split Split, Croatia . With its 220,000 inhabitants it is the largest city in Dalmatia. You can not imagine what architectural pearl the old town around the harbour forms. It developed within the walls of a Roman imperial palace - thanks to Diocletian, who retired here. Splits inhabitants literally live in the midst of almost two millennia of history here.
