In venezianischer Zeit hatte Hvar doppelt soviel Einwohner wie heute und eine wohlhabende Adelsschicht. Warum sich also nicht auch ein Theater gönnen? Dieses erste Stadttheater Europas existiert bis heute.
In Venetian times, Hvar had twice as many inhabitants as today and a wealthy nobility class. So they indulged in a theater. This first city theater in Europe exists until today.
