The dome of Timur's Mausoleum shines in the turquoise blue color so typical of Samarkand. How to make the incomparable Samarkand blue could not yet been fully deciphered and reconstructed. Blue was the colour of the Turkic peoples, and that is also where the word 'turquoise' comes from.
In der für Samarkand so typischen türkisblauen Farbe erstrahlt die Kuppel von Timurs Mausoleum. Die Herstellung des unvergleichlichen Samarkand-Blau konnte bis heute nicht vollständig entschlüsselt und rekonstruiert werden. Blau war die Farbe der Turkvölker und davon kommt auch der Begriff türkis.
