The old city of Sharjah, which has been reconstructed painstakingly with original building materials, is a great tourist attraction. Traditional souks invite you to stroll. Arab markets are always organized so much that transactions with the same goods are often close to each other and the "nobler" crafts, such as goldsmithing, are located in the middle.
Einen Besuchermagneten bildet die Altstadt Sharjahs, die mit originalgetreuen Baumaterialien in mühevoller Kleinarbeit rekonstruiert wurde. Traditionelle Suqs laden zum Bummeln ein. Arabische Märkte sind immer so organisiert, dass Geschäfte mit gleichen Waren meist nahe beieinander liegen und sich die „edleren“ Handwerke wie Goldschmiede in der Mitte befinden.
