From remote mountain villages to the up-beat center of Amman, from the majestic ruins of past civilizations to the timeless splendor of the Dead Sea Jordan always presents itself as a fascinating and hospitable travel destination. Above all one can find lonely, bewitching desert landscapes where one almost seems to hear the silence in the impressive meagerness. About this silence the Muslim Mystic Djalal Rumi wrote: “In total secret we spoke, the wise man and I. I asked him: Tell me the secrets of this world. He said: Be silent and let the silence tell you the secrets of this world.”.
Von abgelegenen Bergdörfern bis zum pulsierenden Zentrum von Amman, von den majestätischen Ruinen vergangener Zivilisationen zum zeitlosen Glanz des Toten Meeres präsentiert sich Jordanien als faszinierendes und gastfreundliches Reiseziel. Vor allem aber findet man hier noch einsame, die Sinne betörende Wüstenlandschaften, in denen man inmitten einer imposanten Kargheit die Stille gleichsam hören kann, eine Stille, über die der islamische Mystiker Dschalal Rumi schreibt: „Ganz im Geheimen sprachen der Weise und ich. Ich bat ihn: Nenne mir die Geheimnisse der Welt. Er sprach: Schweig und lass dir von der Stille die Geheimnisse der Welt erzählen.“.
