At some points the canyon is only as broad as two meters. Above that the rock walls tower towards the sky about 100 meters high. This trick of nature was formed by tectonic shifts. The rift in the rock plateau that was caused by these shifts was washed out further by torrents and floods. For rain water usually gathers in the mountains close-by and then rolls through the narrow canyons as a flood wave meters high.
An manchen Stellen ist die Schlucht nur 2 m breit. Darüber ragen die Felswände fast 100 m senkrecht in den Himmel. Entstanden ist diese Laune der Natur durch eine tektonische Verschiebung. Der dabei gebildete Riss im Felsplateau wurde im Laufe der Zeit von Hochwässern und Sturzfluten weiter ausgewaschen. Regenwasser sammelt sich nämlich in den nahen Bergen und schießt dann völlig unvermutet in meterhohen Flutwellen durch die engen Canyons.
