Die ersten Opfertiere werden in den Klosterhof gebracht. In Zeiten des ursprünglichen Bön-Glaubens wurden den Göttern zum Dank einer guten Ernte Tieropfer dargebracht. Diese Tradition hat man beibehalten, doch kommt aufgrund des hohen Respekts des Buddhismus allen Lebenwesengegenüber eine tatsächliche Opferung natürlich nicht mehr in Frage. Daher wird das Tier nur mehr symbolisch mit blutroter Farbe bestrichen und gesegnet.
The first sacrificial animals are brought into the abbey courtyard. In times of the original Bön-faith sacrificial animals were offered to the gods to thank them for a good harvest. The tradition maintained, but because of the high respect of the Buddhists towards all beings, an actual sacifice is certainly not possible. So the animal gets painted on with blood-red colour and blessed.
