Das Kloster von Rizong 34.269167,77.107222 gilt als jenes mit den strengsten Regeln in ganz Ladakh. Die Mönche dürfen weder Eier, Fleisch noch Zwiebeln essen. Die Mahlzeiten beschränken sich auf Nudelsuppe in der Früh und Tsampa zu Mittag. Essen nach 12 Uhr ist untersagt, ebenso sind Radio und Musik tabu. Trotzdem verströmen die Mönche eine leichte und heitere Atmosphäre, auch die Novizen, die in der klostereigenen Schule eine strenge und intensive Ausbildung erhalten.

The monastery of Rizong 34.269167,77.107222 is considered to be the monastery with the strictest rules in Ladakh. The monks are not allowed to eat eggs, meat or onions. Meals are limited to noodle soup in the morning and tsampa for lunch. Eating after 12 o'clock is prohibited, as well as listening to the radio and music. Nevertheless, the monks exude a light and cheerful atmosphere, even the novices who receive a rigorous and intensive education in the monastery's own school.
