The monastic community of Buddhism is open to men and women alike, but life as a nun is much harder than that of a monk. Nuns need to follow 364 vows, which are much more than monks have to follow. They even have to pay for their livelihood. While monks live in the monastery with free food and lodging, the nuns have to ensure their own supply through household and field work. In the case of the Chomoling Monastery, 34.269167,77.107222 they also supply the monks of the nearby Rizong Monastery.
