Seit alters her spielte Mandi Mandi, India wegen seiner günstigen Lage am Knotenpunkt mehrerer Karawanenwege eine bedeutende Rolle und war bis ins 19. Jahrhundert Hauptstadt eines Rajputen-Fürstentums. Der Wohlstand begünstigte den Bau mehrere Tempelanlagen, die wiederum die typisch-hinduistische Architektur aufweisen: Über der Cella mit der Götterstatue erhebt sich der Tempelturm als Symbol des Weltenberges Meru.

Since time immemorial, Mandi Mandi, India has played a significant role in the favorable location at the junction of several caravan routes and was the capital of a Rajput principality until the 19th century. The prosperity favored the construction of several temples, which in turn have the typical Hindu architecture: Above the cella with the statue of the gods rises the temple tower as a symbol of the worlds-mountain Meru.
