Östlich von Leh bildet der Indus ein breites, fruchtbares Tal, gesäumt von imposanten buddhistischen Heiligtümern. Direkt vor den Toren der Hauptstadt erhebt sich das Kloster von Spituk Spituk, India . Seit dem 11. Jahrhundert thront das Kloster auf einem einsamen Felsen hoch über der Ebene des Indus. Das Hauptkloster des Gelbmützenordens gehört mit seinen mehr als 100 Mönchen zu den großen religiösen Zentren des Landes.

Since the 11th century, the monastery perched on a lonely rock high above the Indus plain. The main monastery of the Order of the Yellow Hats with its more than 100 monks is one of the largest religious centers in the country.
