Reisfelder dominieren die Landschaft beiderseits des Weges. Bis zu drei Ernten im Jahr sind möglich. Zuvor müssen die Setzlinge jedoch per Hand vom Pflanzfeld in das Reisfeld umgesetzt werden, eine schwere und nicht gerade rückenschonende Tätigkeit. 80 % der Weltreisernte werden wie hier im Nassanbau erzeugt, obwohl diese Art der Bewirtschaftung extrem arbeitsintensiv ist, dafür aber hohe Erträge verspricht. Indien belegt hinter China Platz 2 auf der Rangliste der größten Reisproduzenten.
Rice fields dominate the landscape on both sides of the path. Up to three crops a year are possible. Before that, however, the seedlings must be manually transferred from the planting field into the paddy field, a heavy and not particularly back-friendly activity. 80% of the worlds rice crops are produced here in the wet cultivation, although this type of cultivation is extremely labor-intensive, but promises high yields. India ranks second behind China in the ranking of the largest rice producers.
