Mzcheta#

Mzcheta Mtskheta,Georgien is the old capital and the religious center of Georgia. It is about 20 km East of Tbilisi. On a hill there is a small cross-cupola church (Dshwari church) from the 6 th century. It is surounded with all kinds of ordinary life, musicians, stalls with small stuff for sale, free running chicken, etc. From here one has a good view of the confluence of the rivers Aragwi and Mtkvari and of the city that is famous for the most important cathedral of Georgia, Sweti Zochweli, dating back to the 11 th century. Both the small church and the cathedral are UNESCO world heritage sites.

Mzcheta Mtskheta,Georgien ist die alte Hauptstadt und das religiöse Zentrum von Georgien. Es liegt ca. 20 km östlich von Tbilisi. Eine kleine Kreuzkuppelkirche (Dshwari Kirche) aus dem 6. Jahrhundert auf einem Hügel und ist umgeben von einem bunten Treiben Verkäufer und Musiker, freilaufendem Federvieh, usw. Sie bietet einen schönen Blick auf den Zusammenfluss der Flüsse Aragwi und Mtkvari und auf die Stadt, aus der die wichtigste Kathedrale Georgiens Sweti Zochweli aus dem 11 Jahrhundert hervorsticht. Beide Kirchen gehören zum UNESCO Kulturerbe.

In Zweti Zochweli cathedral large crowds gather on holidays. The church is famous for its facades and the large garden that is surrounded by a large defensive wall. Nearby there are many shops, plazas and groups attending a wedding.

In der Sweti Zochweli Kirche herrscht Feiertagsstimmung. Die Kirche ist durch die Fassadengestaltung, und den großen von einer (Verteidigunsmauer umgebenen) Garten berühmt. Außerhalb gibt es viele Geschäfte, Plätze und Hochzeitsgruppen.
