An einer strategisch wichtigen Kreuzung zweier Täler ragt ein Felsensporn in den Himmel, wie geschaffen für den Bau einer Festungsanlage. Die Geschichte von Khertvisi Khertvisi, Georgia reicht mehr als 2200 Jahre in der Vergangenheit. Die heutigen Ruinen stammen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Damals herrschte ein lokaler Fürst über das Mtkvari-Tal, einer wichtigen Karawanenroute durch den Kleinen Kaukasus.

At a strategically important junction of two valleys there is a rock which seems to be made for the construction of fortifications. The history of Khertvisi Khertvisi, Georgia dates back more than 2200 years into the past. The ruins of today originate from the 14th century. At that time a local prince ruled over the Mtkvari valley, an important caravan route through the Lesser Caucasus.
