The Hani society is highly egalitarian. A kind of mayor is heading who inherits his office but has to have it confirmed by the older men of the community. He has no great power, because the strict social code of the Hani, which defines the individual life and the rules of the community in minute detail, hardly leaves a margin.
Die Hani-Gesellschaft ist hochgradig egalitär. An der Spitze steht eine Art Bürgermeister, der sein Amt erbt, es aber von den älteren Männern der Gemeinschaft bestätigen lassen muss. Er hat keine große Macht, denn der strenge Sozialcode der Hani, der das individuelle Leben und die Spielregeln der Gemeinschaft bis ins Detail festlegt, lässt kaum Spielräume.
