Although Burmese monks do not have the right to vote, nothing happens in the village the monastery community was not consulted about by the head of the village. Monks are highly respected in public life.
Obwohl burmesische Mönche über kein Stimmrecht verfügen, geschieht nichts im Dorf, ohne dass sich die Dorfvorsteher mit der mönchischen Gemeinschaft abgesprochen hätten. Im öffentlichen Leben genießen Mönche höchste Achtung.
