Seattle#
Seattle Seattle is the largest city of Washington, the city proper with about 1/2 million population, the metropolitan with some 3.6 million significantly larger. Seattel was the frist city with a tower with rotating visiting paltform/ restaurant, the famous "Space Needle".It was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair. It was once the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River at 184 m height. It is built to withstand winds of up to 300 km per hour and earthquakes of up to 9.1 magnitude.
It has an observation deck and a rotating SkyCity restaurant. The downtowntown Seattle skyline, as well as the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Elliott Bay and surrounding islands can be viewed from the top of the Needle.
