eine eigene Stadt, wäre sie mit ihren fast 3 Millionen Einwohnern eine echte Metropole. So aber ist sie nur ein Stadtviertel, noch dazu eines, dass für die Banalitäten zuständig ist. Hier wohnen die Unter- und Mittelschichtler, die in Manhattan arbeiten und die Infrastruktur am Laufen halten. Kein Wunder, dass Brooklyn unter Minderwertigkeitskomplexen leidet. Doch jüngst tut sich ein Silberstreifen am Horizont auf. Die immensen Immobilienpreise vertreiben sogar viele Wohlhabende aus Manhattan, die sich vor allem das Viertel Brooklyn Hights als neue Adresse auserkoren haben.

was a city in its own right, it would be a true metropolis with almost 3 million inhabitants. But so it is just a neighborhood, one that is responsible for the banalities. The lower and middle class people live here who work in Manhattan and keep the infrastructure running. No wonder Brooklyn suffers from inferiority complexes. But recently, a silver lining opens up on the horizon. The immense real estate prices expell the wealthy from Manhattan, who have chosen, above all, the Brooklyn Hights district as a new address. Rows of brick houses give Brooklyn Heights a small-town ambience.
