The mansion was built in 1927 as a summer residence for a wealthy merchant. The original building had 32 rooms even featuring a bath with a sunken Roman tub. When business fell upon hard times the property changed hands a few times until the congregation (of the church) bought the estate and made it their home. 33.8015199,-118.4027187 .
