Im Jahre 1854, direkt am Atlantik als riesiges Gesundheitsresort gegründet, entwickelte sich Atlantic City Atlantic City, New Jersey Anfang des 20. Jahrhundert dank der Prohibition zur Boomtown. In den Bars und Nachtklubs der Stadt blühte das verbotene Geschäft mit dem Alkohol und dem Glücksspiel. Nach dem Niedergang im 2. Weltkrieg suchte man ein Rezept für die Revitalisierung der Stadt. Man fand es 1976 in der Legalisierung des Glücksspiels. Neue Hotels schossen wir Pilze aus dem Boden und Atlantic City mauserte sich zum 'Las Vegas der Ostküste'. 2011 arbeiteten in den Großcasinos mehr als 33.000 Menschen, die alljährlich 30 Millionen Gäste begrüßten und mehrere Milliarden Dollar Gewinn erwirtschafteten.

Founded in 1854 as a huge health resort right beside the Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic City Atlantic City, New Jersey developed thanks to prohibition into a boomtown at the beginning of the 20th century. In the bars and nightclubs of the city, the forbidden business with alcohol and gambling was thriving. After its decline during World War II, a recipe was sought for the revitalization of the city. It was found in 1976 in the legalization of gambling. New hotels mushroomed and Atlantic City turned into the 'Las Vegas of the East Coast'. In 2011, more than 33,000 people worked in its mega casinos, welcoming 30 million guests and making a profit of billions of dollars each year.
