Who has not experienced it firsthand, can hardly imagine that especially the safaris in the morning, as to temperature sensation, rather resemble a ski trip. Freezing temperatures and an equally icy airstream in the open jeeps require a strong will - and so early in the morning. But the dry, although at night bitterly cold southern winter - from June to September - is the best time for a Safari.
Wer es nicht selbst erlebt hat, kann sich nur schwer vorstellen, dass speziell die Morgensafaris, was das Temperaturempfinden angeht, eher einem Schiausflug gleichen. Eisige Temperaturen und ein genauso eisiger Fahrtwind in den offenen Jeeps erfordern einen starken Willen – und das schon so früh am Morgen. Doch der trockene, aber nachts bitterkalte Südwinter von Juni bis September ist die ideale Safarizeit.
