Telouet Kasbah#

At 1,800 meters above sea level the Telouet Kasbah hides away, the former main residence of the Glaoui Pasha. As late as in the 1950s, more than 1000 people lived here, including many serfs. Due to his pact with the French, Pasha Thami El Glaoui was then even more powerful than the Sultan of Morocco and thus his fortified castle from the early 20th century was furnished luxuriously.
In 1800 m Seehöhe versteckt sich die Kasbah von Telouet, die einstige Hauptresidenz der Glaoui-Pascha. Noch in den 1950er Jahren lebten hier mehr als 1000 Menschen, darunter viele Leibeigene. Durch seinen Pakt mit den Franzosen war Pascha Thami El Glaoui damals mächtiger als der Sultan von Marokko – entsprechend kunstvoll war seine Wehrburg aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert ausgestattet.
