To escape the magic of the madrassas, you should just enter the fray of the old town, drift along and defy the many self-appointed tour guides. Even if you get lost hopelessly - which certainly happens - somewhere there is always a way leading to new impressions. The medina of Fes is one of the most confusing and at the same time one of the most stunning places in Morocco.
