Impressions of Mauritius#

Mauritius Mauritius is an island nation in the Indian Ocean some 2,000 kilometres off the southeast coast of Africa. The country includes the islands of Mauritius and Rodrigues Rodrigues , Agaléga Agaléga and tiny St. Brandon St. Brandon, Mauritius . The capital and largest city is Port Louis. Mauritius is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and the African Union. In what follows the first 14 pictures show a typical beachhotel in the SW part of the islands and views from it, pictures 15- 41 are from a one-day tour of the island, the remainder are pictures from an early morning hike in Black River Gorges National Park. With a population density exceeding 650 per km2 the island is very highly populated but clever routing on an excursion and the national park do not show this much to tourists.
