Today, the Weyto people, the natives of this region, live in the suburbs of the city. As always, they are regarded as masters of basket-weaving. They make not only baskets and mats out of papyrus, but also those legendary papyrus boats with they use for fishing.
Die einstigen Ureinwohner dieser Region vom Volk der Weyto leben heute in den Außenbezirken der Stadt. Wie seit jeher gelten sie als Meister der Flechtkunst. Aus den Papyrusstauden fertigen sie nicht nur Körbe und Matten, sondern auch jene legendäre Papyrusboote, mit denen sie auf Fischfang gehen.
