Our journey leads through 5,000 years of history from Giza via the Faiyum Oasis
Fayum, Egypt
to the areas around Minya and Asyut, still largely untouched by tourism. From there we move on to Thebes, the capital of the Pharaohs, to nowaday's Luxor and to Aswan. In Abu Simbel we reach the southernmost point of Egypt, almost 1,000 km linear distance from Cairo. Finally around the Kharga Oasis the desert lures again with lonely and fascinating sandy landscapes.
Unsere Reise führt durch 5000 Jahre Geschichte von Gizeh über die Oase Fayum
Fayum, Ägypten
in die vom Tourismus noch weitgehend unberührte Gebiete rund um Minya und Assiut. Von dort geht es weiter in die Pharaonenhauptstadt Theben, ins heutige Luxor und nach Assuan. Mit Abu Simbel erreichen wir den südlichsten Punkt Ägyptens, fast 1000 km Luftlinie von Kairo entfernt. Zum Abschluss lockt rund um die Oase Kharga nochmals die Wüste mit einsamen und faszinierenden Sandlandschaften.
