Since 1971, the Aswan Dam blocks the life-giving inundation of the Nile its way towards the Mediterranean. The rapidly increasing population had made a regulation of the river necessary.
Seit 1971 versperrt der Assuan Hochdamm der lebensspendenden Nilflut ihren Weg Richtung Mittelmeer. Die stark ansteigende Bevölkerung hatte eine Regulierung des Flusses notwendig gemacht.
