24 m high, the statue of Xuan Tian Shang Di overlooks the Lotus Pond. In his previous life, the mighty God was an ordinary butcher but out of remorse he gave up his job and devoted himself as an ascetic to Taoism. There he made a career and was promoted to the god of the heavens and protector of the North.
