There were no trees#
The current situation#
It is the year 10.344. The ecological collapse of more than 9000 years ago is now more myth than history. At that time, the end time of the ancients, nearly 12 billion people lived on earth. The steadily growing population after 1900 and industrialization polluted the environment more and more. In just 150 years the total collapse occurred. The seas were filled with algae, remaining residual forests disappeared just like bushes, many plant and animal species. The oxygen content fell off balance, billions of people and animals died, suffocated. Severe weather, such as in the primitive times of our planet, ravaged the earth's surface, covered megacities with sand and mud. They started to sink into the rising sea.
Small groups of people survived here and there, found new sources of food on a planet, its largest land plants should be from now on short grasses ...
Today, in the year 10.344, the earth is again quite densely populated ( in former Europe there are again 112,000 people). It has developed a new civilization with some technology..
Legends#
From the time of collapse, little is known: for hundreds of generations there were only oral traditions; and the time has ensured that even Tokyo or New York were so destroyed, covered by masses of earth and growth that stories of these cities sound for us like stories about Atlantis. In the legends and tales from the time of the ancients is a persistent idea of "trees" in "forests", although scientists point out again and again that these concepts can only have come from an overheated imagination. Here is an excerpt of the latest edition of the scientific journal:
"It is amazing to see that in today's scientific time even otherwise rational adults still occasionally seriously report of "trees" that supposedly existed once. But all our knowledge and research clearly speak against this: trees did never exist more than fire- breathing dragons or the Easter Bunny.
Main arguments#
The theory that through the process of assimilation which we know from the grass, several meters high, massive creatures grow, is already absurd in itself. How is it that from air, water, sun and some minerals from the earth, a hard substance such as "wood" can develope?
The findings, which are often referred to as "petrified wood", contain, when compared to grass, only traces of organic material. The theory that the original organic substances were leached out and replaced by minerals is more than far-fetched.
Since discoveries of "glass" and "plastic" from the past are more frequent than "petrified wood", it is obvious that the ancients have been applying a special production process to mix grass-like substances with minerals into a hard mass. Why they did this and how this process worked, we do not yet know, but we are probably already come rather close to solving the puzzle.
If you believe the stories about trees, then these often stood in groups, in so-called "forests" where the “trees” would have made the movement of normal surface-vehicles impossible.
To believe that the ancients went to the effort to construct a worldwide system of paved lanes through the woods (in the fairy tale called "roads") , to move with the surface vehicles, is an absurd assumption, since a one-time thorough burning of all forests would have solved the problems once and for all.
Moreover, a simple calculation shows the absurdity of the claim: Europe is assumed, if you believe the fairy tale, to have had a network of over 50 million "road kilometers".
If we assume that a hundred people working on a road kilometer one month, all 100.000 people in Europe would need at least fifty thousand months, i.e. about 4.000 years to construct the road network. And this does not include maintenance!
Almost 50% of the trees were, it says, so called "deciduous trees" which lost their “leaves” once in a year. Assuming that this layer leaves per year was just five inches then in 1.000 years we have a 50 meters high leaf layer - which would have indeed smothered the fabled forests themselves!
Finally, it must be noted that in almost all the tales of forests "dwarfs", "giants," "witches," "spirits," "fairies", "dragons" and similar creatures are mentioned, for none of them even a trace of evidence has been found. All attempts to consolidate the theory by findings of into stone turned dwarfs have utterly failed. In particular, it still seems not to have spread that the discovery of about a hundred stone dwarfs near Karlsruhe just consists of just statuettes of burnt clay that certainly never lived and are certainly not examples of petrified gnomes!
Conclusion#
Above arguments can be continued indefinitely. It seems to be a human habit to want to believe in the impossible and absurd. It is time that a slightly more reasonable thinking finds its way into our lives. We know that dwarves, giants, fairies, witches, ghosts, almighty God and the Easter Bunny in the "traditional" sense never existed. It is about time that "trees" and "forest" will finally also considered as where they belong, into the realm of fantasy! "
