At the end of Karl Johans gate is the royal castle, surrounded by a 22-hectare park. It is now used not only as the king's residence, but also for the purposes of governmental representation, for the administration of the monarchy, but also as the most distinguished guesthouse in the country. The building from the early 19th century can be visited in summer.
Am Ende der Karl Johans gate liegt das königliche Schloss, umgeben von einem 22 ha großen Park. Es dient heute nicht nur als Residenz des Königs, sondern auch zu staatlichen Repräsentationszwecken, zur Verwaltung der Monarchie, aber auch als vornehmstes Gästehaus des Landes. Der Bau aus dem frühen 19. Jhdt. kann im Sommer besichtigt werden.
