Oslo Oslo , situated on a fjord and surrounded by forests, is the country's largest metropolitan area with a population of 975,744. In 1299 it was made the capital of Norway by King Håkon V who also ordered the construction of the Akershus Fortress. In the late Middle Ages, Oslo developed into an important commercial and residential city. Among the many sights of the city are the Akershus castle and fortress, located on the banks of the Oslofjord.

Oslo Oslo , an einem Fjord gelegen und von Wald umgeben, ist mit 975.744 Einwohnern der größte Ballungsraum des Landes und wurde schon im Jahre 1299 von König Håkon V. zur Hauptstadt Norwegens gemacht, der auch den Bau der Festung Akershus in Auftrag gab. Im Spätmittelalter entwickelte sich Oslo zu einer wichtigen Kaufmanns- und Residenzstadt. Zu den zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt zählen auch Schloss und Burg Festung Akershus, direkt am Ufer des Oslofjords gelegen.
