Interior of the Pantheon in Rome. The dome was one of the most important Roman architectural achievements. It is the largest masonry vault built is a perfect semi sphere (the diameter is equal to the interior height - 43.3 m (142 ft)). Light is provided by an oculus, a 9 m (29.5 ft) opening in the dome.
