Kilkenny Kilkenny, Irland is a city located on the banks of the River Nore in the south-eastern part of Ireland.
The site of the cathedral has been used for Christian worship since the 6th century. In the 13th century the present building, which incidentally is the second longest cathedral in Ireland, was built. Its adjoining tower, called St. Canice's Tower, was constructed in the 19th century and is a Celtic Christian round tower.
