Palace of Malia#

The Palace of Malia is a Minoan palace in Crete on the north coast, about 30 kilometers east of Iraklion. It is after Knossos, Phaistos and Kato Zakros the largest palace complex in Crete and was built around 1900 BC. Chr. Malia was destroyed for the third time (after two earthquakes) around 1450 BC, but this time traces of fire on the walls indicate an enemy conquest.
Der Palast von Malia ist eine Palastanlage aus minoischer Zeit auf Kreta an der Nordküste, etwa 30 Kilometer östlich von Heraklion. Er ist neben Knossos, Phaistos und Kato Zakros die größte Palastanlage auf Kreta und dürfte etwa 1900 v. Chr. errichtet worden sein. Malia wurde um 1450 v. Chr. zum dritten Mal (nach zwei Erbeben) erneut zerstört, diesmal aber deuten Brandspuren an den Mauern auf eine feindliche Eroberung hin.
