Albrecht Dürer's House
Albrecht-Dürer-Haus, Albrecht-Dürer-Straße, Nürnberg, ...
is a so called "Fachwerkhaus", a half-timbered house which was built around 1420 and was the home of the German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer from 1509 to his death in 1528. The building has five stories, the bottom two have sandstone walls, clearly distinguishable from the upper stories which are timber framed, and on top of the building is a half-hip roof. A museum dedicated to the life and work of Albrecht Dürer was established in 1871 and has been open, except from 1944 to 1971, since then.
