This is the most famous (or infamous) bridge across the Garrone.

It was built 1550- 1632 (i.e.requiring almost 80 years to build) for three reasons: The two banks differ in height by ten meters (hence the irregular arches), the left bank consists of bottomless sand, making a solid foundation with the then available technologies very hard, and allowing to work only a few months a year when the water level was low enough.
