Rows of crosses at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy Colleville-sur-Mer, Frankreich . Located on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach (one of the landing beaches for the Normandy Invasion of 1944), the cemetery contains the remains of 9,387 American military dead.
