The Temple of the Tooth in Kandy is located in the royal palace complex of the former kingdom of Kandy and houses the alleged tooth relic of the Buddha. It is believed that whoever has the tooth has the power over the country and Kandy was also the last Sri Lankan kingdom. A symbolic "bathing with the relic" is said to have healing powers.
Der Sri Dalada Maligawa, häufig auch der Zahntempel genannt liegt im königlichen Palastkomplex des früheren Königreichs von Kandy und beherbergt das angebliche Zahnrelikt von Buddha. Es wird geglaubt, dass derjenige, der den Zahn hat, auch die Macht über das Land hat. Tatsächlich war Kandy auch das letzte srilankische Königreich. Ein symbolisches "Baden mit dem Relikt" soll heilende Wirkung haben.
