Since the volcanic eruption in 1991 rivers and brooks have cut deep into the hundred metres thick and densely overgrown ash and sand layers. The result is a unique landscape of canyons.
Seit dem Ausbruch 1991 haben sich Flüsse und Bäche tief in die hunderte Meter hohen und mittlerweile dicht bewachsenen Asche- und Sandschichten des Vulkans gegraben und eine einzigartige Canyonlandschaft modelliert.
