Over a period of 2000 years terraces were built painstakingly by hand into the mountain slope making the landscape arable. The marvel encompasses an area of 20.000 km². Border ramparts of the tens of thousands fields strung together would have a length of more than 20.000 km.
In mühevoller 2000-jähriger Arbeit haben sie die steilen Berghänge terrassiert und damit für die Landwirtschaft urbar gemacht. Das Wunderwerk erstreckt sich über eine Fläche von 20.000 km². Allein die Begrenzungswälle zehntausender Felder haben aneinandergereiht eine Länge von mehr als 20.000 km.
