This tower in Gorgan
Gorgan, Iran
belongs to a wide spread ensemble of towers, which continue to the East through Tibet into Sichuan in China.
Their ground plans are often star shaped.
The tower of Gombad i Qabus in Gorgan stands on top of a huge prehistoric mound. The tower was erected in the 11th century AD.
Dieser Turm gehört zu einem weit gestreuten Ensemble von Türmen, die über Tibet bis weit nach Sichuan in China reicht.
Ihre Grundrisse sind sehr oft sternförmig.
Der Turm in Gombad i Qabus steht auf einem hohen prähistorischen Grabhügel. Der Turm wurde im 11. Jh. errichtet.
