Catherdal, Lima#
Due to damages caused by numerous earthquakes, constant necessary repairs gave Lima an immense Baroque cathedral underlining the importance of the Catholic Church in Colonial times.
The design of the cathedral represents different art epochs - from Baroque to Neoclassicism - and the interior impresses with ist vaulted ceiling, gold-plated main altar and the carved wooden choir stalls with detailed carved arms and back representing saints, virgins and apostles.
