The brim of the Perito Moreno Glacier Perito Moreno Galcier is about 50m high, of which every now and then huge blocks of ice break off and crash into the lake where they float. Perito Moreno, an Argentinean geographer was the name giver of the glacier. Yearlong studies could not identify a significant trend concerning the shrinkage of this glacier, in contrast to that most of the other glaciers in the area are shrinking.
